The Friday night of Farmer Phil’s Festival this year is going to be THE place to be, and we’re going to be joined by one of the best bands in the business – a rock n’ roll band that has been there, seen it, done it, done it again and worn out the t-shirt!
Ladies and gentlemen, it gives us much pleasure to announce that The Quireboys will be headlining our famous rotating stage on Friday 11 August 2017.
These guys really need no introduction, having shared the stage with the likes of Whitesnake, Aerosmith, Poison, Iggy Pop and The Rolling Stones in a career that has seen them tour worldwide, from St James Park in Newcastle to 50,000 people at the Tokyo Done in Japan.
The hard rocking quartet first came to prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s, with their debut album ‘A Bit of What You Fancy’ charting at No. 2 and single ‘Hey You’ earning them mainstream recognition both here and Stateside, leading to US tours with the likes of LA Guns and Soundgarden before the band was invited to join Guns n’ Roses’ ‘Use Your Illusion’ tour in 1993.
A string of critically acclaimed studio and live albums have followed, mostly recently last year’s ‘Twisted Love’ (out now on Off Yer Rocka Recordings), and we are beside ourselves with excitement at the prospect of The Quireboys getting us all up and rocking this year at Farmer Phil’s Festival.
Here’s their classic hit ‘7 O’Clock’ to get you going!
